Ipsy Glam Bag August 2014

So this is my August Glam Bag in October. I've been meaning to do this review forever now, and because I'm stuck inside sick, now's the time! If you are unfamiliar with what Ipsy is, it is a monthly subscription where for $15 a month (or $10 if you're American) You receive a cute little bag full of beauty products! During the sign up process you take a quiz which helps Ipsy determine what you will get in your bag, so its more personal to you as opposed to other subscription bags. Like how perf is that? ;P I subscribe because I'm always wanting to try new stuff, but never know what to buy. I binge bought korean beauty products on Ebay for a while and although the products were nice and pretty cheap I was not buying a healthy quantity and it definitely adds up! Anyways lets get started!

Glam Bag: The theme for August was Beauty Schooled, which is very appropriate for the time of year. The bag is shaped like a pencil case, which is super cute! I normally have an aversion to orange (I work at Home Depot and it just ruined the colour for me) but it looks really pretty on this bag, I just love the polka dots! Also if you look closely on the pull tab of the zipper, you can see IPSY on it, which all the bags will have. My only complaint is that it is very stiff and doesn't look cute when its stuck in a squished position.

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide on Eye Pencil: I was very happy to get this one because most people got the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and I'm glad I got something different from the rest. I got this in the shade "Plushie" which is a deep purple colour. I am wearing it on my lower lashline in the picture below. It really lives up to its title in the sense that it does glide on really nicely and it is long wearing! I don't wear eyeliner too much, especially colours other than black, but I will definitely use this during the cold months for a pop of rich colour.

Coastal Scents Shadow Palette Sample: I got the shades Persian Pink, Baby Pink, Pink Silver, and Icelandic. I don't know if I will wear any of the pink shades at all, because half of them are too bright of a pink for me to want to wear on my eyes. I do really like the shade Icelandic though, which I am wearing on my outer lids. Even though it shows as a lilac on the palette, it shows on my lids as a light periwinkle, which I don't mind. I have a few lilac shades but not a periwinkle one! The colour payoff is good and it does last quite a while.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk: So I really love that its made with oat milk and the sample bottle is perfect for a travel size but I can't say that I would purchase another one. Most dry shampoos have a not exactly pleasant chemical scent to it but this one is just too much for me to handle. I don't know how to describe it, but trust me it's pretty bad. Who wants to walk around with icky smelling hair? Def not me. I will keep it in my bag to use when I'm traveling just because it does work (it's in my hair), but I'll make sure I have perfume to keep it company.

Manna Kadar Sheer Glo: This product is pretty versatile in the ways it can be used. You can mix it with your foundation for a dewy look, use it as a highlighter on your cheeks, or mix it with your body lotion for a shimmery glow. I used this as a highlighter on my cheek bones, even though you can't even tell. I wouldn't recommend it because the likely hood of anyone (including yourself) noticing it is pretty slim. It might be good as a very subtle body shimmer though, which I will use it as next. I will make sure to update you.

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner: This is an organic anti-aging lip balm and it is "Mandarin Green Orange Ginger" scented. My absolute favourite product that I got in my bag this month! It smells amazing and is very moisturizing. It is colourless as you can see on my lips. I will say that it doesn't last a long time and you will have to keep applying it every few hours or so but I think that it is worth it!! The only draw back is that it costs $5.50 which is a little expensive for a lip balm, but I suppose that's the price you pay for a purely organic product. I love it!!

Overall I loved my August Glam Bag and I would recommend Ipsy to anyone who is interested in trying it. This referral link will give you the option to skip the waitlist if you so choose. You must subscribe within 24 hours after clicking the link!

Thank you for reading my review, please let me know if you liked it, and if I should do more. Also, if you have tried any of these products yourself, I'd love to know what you thought of them!
